In honor of Women鈥檚 History Month, we would like to celebrate Dynastie Arellano, one of our recent welding graduates. We appreciate all of our students and love to share in their success, which is why we鈥檙e sharing her story this month as a special spotlight. While men have primarily dominated welding, women made significant strides in the field during World War II. During this time, women stepped up to help in any way that they could. This movement coined terms like 鈥淩osie the Riveter鈥� or 鈥淲innie the Welder鈥� to symbolize the shift of women into the industrial workforce. This was just the beginning of the shift for women in the welding industry, and the number grows every day. After graduating from high school Dynastie found a passion for welding, picking it up as a hobby in her spare time. Wanting to further her education, she sought out a school that could help her get her certifications. 鈥淚 went to school and I really fell in love with welding, so I decided to look for a school. Then I found ACI and I really liked it.鈥� When asking Dynastie what the most enjoyable about her time at school, she told us about several experiences that helped her to learn and expand her welding knowledge. With a balance of hands-on practice and bookwork, she found that her hands-on experience is what really helped her to learn the trade better. During her time at ACI, she built a supportive community, learning alongside peers and gaining knowledge from her instructors. She found friends in her welding class to work together with and build a bond during her classes. 鈥淲e would have little dinners with everyone, the whole class. The instructor, Jesse, and the others would bring food and it really helped us become more comfortable working together.鈥� Dynastie spoke at length about how good of a fit ACI had been for her and really enjoyed everyone she worked with 鈥� from the administration team to the other students. 鈥淛esse has been very helpful, and he鈥檚 just a bright spirit overall. He鈥檚 helped us with finding work. He鈥檚 given us the opportunity to finish our certifications before moving on to go to work as well.鈥� After Dynastie graduated from ACI, she continued her education and continued to get more certifications before going into the workforce. She values the importance of preparation and doing her best work during her education, and she actively seeks to arm herself with as much knowledge as possible. 鈥淚t鈥檚 not a race 鈥� everyone works at their own pace. Just don鈥檛 compare yourself to everyone. It鈥檚 a very competitive field, but everyone learns in their own time!鈥� Here at ACI we work hard to provide an inclusive environment for all our students, regardless of gender! 91麻豆精品 would like to congratulate Yurika Lambert on passing her DMV Exam with a perfect score! This is a huge accomplishment, and we could not be prouder. This is on the second occurrence that many ACI staff have ever seen. We sat down with Yurika to see how she liked her time training at 91麻豆精品 and what is next for her in the trucking industry.

JOINING THE TRUCKING INDUSTRY

Yurika Lambert comes from a trucking family. She grew up around trucks her whole life. Her father was a truck driver for 25-years before he passed, and her brother is currently a trucker as well. Yurika chose a different career to begin her life. She studied and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Although she found her career rewarding, she longed for the open road and independence of being a truck driver. Yurika came to 91麻豆精品鈥檚 Fresno Campus with a goal in mind of becoming a truck driver and earning her Class A CDL! She most certainly obtained her goal!

TRAINING AT ACI

During her time at 91麻豆精品, Yurika said she, 鈥渞eally liked being able to get things done and learning new things while still having fun. Both the instructors & other students were very helpful and friendly. The relationships that were built at ACI is what I miss the most.鈥� Yurika was overjoyed when she had learned she got a perfect score at the DMV. She felt very blessed to have such a great support system. From both her family and the ACI staff and instructors, Yurika believes her success comes from them.

WHAT鈥橲 NEXT FOR YURIKA

What鈥檚 next for Yurika in the trucking industry? She is very excited to begin driving for TJT in Coalinga, where she resides. She looks forward to this new career path and all of the adventures she is about to embark upon. For her future, she is most excited about trying to start her own trucking company. This is something her father and she had discussed prior to his passing and would really like to do it in honor of him. We have all the belief in the world that Yurika will accomplish her goals and we are excited to see what鈥檚 in her future!
